St. Andrew's would like to "Welcome"

The Reverend Isabel Geller to our parish.  Isabel will start at St. Andrew's on September 1, 2022

Purple Flower with Leaves

The Rev. Isabel Roberts Geller is a cradle Episcopalian, raised in another whaling town, New London, CT. She graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore with a degree in Music, and recently earned her Master of Divinity from The School of Theology at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN. Prior to her move to TN, she completed the first two years of the MDiv requirements at The General Theological Seminary in Manhattan.

Between college and seminary, Isabel met and married Jim Geller and raised four children, Emma, Liz, Hugh, and Peter, who are all launched in their careers. Isabel and Jim also have a grandson, Oscar. Jim is an avid skier and hiker while Isabel enjoys the beach and messing about in boats.

Isabel heard the call to ordained ministry after the kids had left the nest. However, her personal theology of hospitality, through which all are included and no one is left behind, has always been a part of her work, especially with a ballet company, several music ensembles, and as senior warden at St. Andrew's Church in Ayer, MA. She looks forward to getting to know all of St. Andrew's New Bedford's parishioners, old, new, and those yet to come. She is always up for a lighthearted chat or a deep theological discussion.

She can be reached at Isabel@standrewsnb.org.
